Car of the Week: Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

Hey Guys

This time the "Car of the Week" is probably pretty known by some of you cause it was the "automotive main caracter" in the thriller Matrix Reloaded - the Cadillac CTS. My model is the Station Wagon.

Since its introduction in 2002 the first generation of the CTS was assembled to 2007. It was the first model with a manual transmission since the late '80s.

Then, in 2007, the second generation of the CTS went into production. Its available as a 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan and a 5-door station wagon (like my model). Like the first generation the current CTS is also with a manual transmission available. Its assembled in the production plants in Michigan, Miaoli in the Republic of China and in Kaliningrad, Russia.

It's design features some parts of the design concept Cadillac Sixteen, which is one of my favorite Cars since it was released in 2003.

The Sport Wagon, by the way Cadillacs first station wagon that's not meant to be carrying coffins around, is available since 2009. As wagons are preferably bought and driven in Europe, instead of sedans, the Sport Wagon with its V6 3,0 or 3,6 l engine, was primarily made for the European market.

Whats also "nicer" about the 2nd Gernation instead of the 1st Generation is, beside of the new, more beautiful and larger grille, is inter alia the integrated 40 GB hard drive or the navigation system with a Bose sound system.

For the 2012 model of the CTS are some changes made, like some more higher quality materials, dropped weight and new technology packages.

Some of you maybe remember the CTS of the sci-fi action movie Matrix Reloaded, where the film crew needed ten of the at this time unreleased models for one featured CTS in the movie.
