Volkswagens MQB - modular transverse matrix aka Modularer QuerBaukasten

Hey Guys
Volkswagen recently developed a new Magazine called "Das.Auto.Magazine" and it is available online in the languages english and german. You find there a lot information about the Company and on what they are recently working on.
Just as "7 Questions on the MQB" which explains you the VAG's Modular Transverse Matrix a bit more and I summarized them here for you.If you want to read the original and full article by VW you find the Link below of this Post.

What is the MQB?

If "Modular Transverse Matrix" still sound like Greek to you I would descrive it as a modular platform for, especially in the future, every Car produced by the Volkswagen AG - such as Volkswagen, Audi and SEAT.
As you can see on the Picture above there are several Parts marked and a blue one. The blue is technical identical in every production Car based on that platform and depending on if its a smaller or larger Car the other Parts will be "added" for the length, or not.

The MQB helps cutting down the prices (of Production) and already now a few Cars share this MQB Platform, so as the new Volkswagen Golf 7, Audi A3 Mk3 or the SEAT León. But the number of Cars will grow massively in the future - gasoline powerd Cars, Electric or Hybrid Cars, everything will be possible with the MQB.
