The new EU eco-label provides customers when purchasing tires any orientation - on the contrary: it confuses the buyer. As reported in the AUTO BILD on Friday appearing Issue (No. 49), the labels can mislead consumers quickly. The reason: the eco-certificate is not issued by a testing organization, but by the manufacturers themselves, the test standards allow manufacturers much leeway. Therefore, the results are not comparable. The classification into one of the classes is up to the manufacturers.

Another problem: Because the most important criterion for winter tires, the performance on snow and ice does not check the labels for these tire group is not meaningful.
