How To: Connect your iPhone with the Skoda Octavia RS

Listening to Music via the Phone 4S

Hey Guys

Connecting a mobile device with a Car can be pretty tricky, but it doesn't always need to be tricky. So when I was able to Test Drive the Skoda Octavia RS today I tried to connect my iPhone 4S with the Car in order to listen to my own Music. And so, here's the Step-by-Step Explanation for you.

First you can, optionally, connect your iPhone or any other Smartphone via the USB-Plug next to the „Phone Box“ near the shift knob in the front. Seconds later it should start to charge your Phones Battery.

Okay, now push the“Media“-Button, on the left side of the Touch-Display, once. Now it asks you to select the Source you'd like to use. But oh, it just suggests me „Aux“? So, no hesitation, just choose „Source“ and now choose „BT-Audio“ for Bluetooth Audio. Now turn your Phone's Bluetooth on. As your Phone is currently charging this shouldn't be a Problem..

Via the Octavia's Columbus Touch-Display you now tap to „Search for new Devices“ („Neues Gerät suchen“ in German), then you want to see the Results and if it lists your own Mobile-Phone (you should be able to change your Smartphones Name in your Phones Options-Menu), choose it by tapping once.

Then it asks if the Password, that's shown on your iPhone/Smartphone, is identically with the one on the Screen. If Yes, go along. Shortly after the Connection Process is finished your Phone is connected to the Skoda Octavia (RS). Today it immediately started to play one of my favorite Songs by Nirvana (loud .. nice!).

If you want to skip a Song you can either do this right on your Smartphone (or your Co-Driver while you are focused on Driving), right on the Touch-Display or via one of the Buttons on the left Side of the Octavia's Steering-Wheel. So you have three possibilities which should be enough ;)
