Hey Guys

Bugatti, for most of us just a dream we'll ever admire. Not just todays Veyron models are more than Luxury, also the most expensive Vintage Car in the World is a Bugatti, the maybe prettiest Automobile ever: the Bugatti 57SC Atlantic. The father of this stunning Design was Jean Bugatti, third of four kids by Ettore Bugatti.

And with the "Jean Bugatti" Legend model the company pays homage to Gianoberto Maria Carlo Bugatti, known as Jean. Born in 1909 Jean was responsible for chassis and engine design up from the late 1920's and he took over Bugatti in 1936 as head of the company, aged 27.

The Jean Bugatti version is based on the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse and features the same 8 litre W16 engine with 1.200 PS and 1.500 Nm torque at 3,000 to 5,000. It goes from 0 to 100 kmh / 0 to 60 mph in enormous 2,6 seconds. The Legend vehicle to be unveiled in Frankfurt is a call back to La Voiture Noire (‘The Black Car’), an Atlantic model which was driven by Jean Bugatti himself and has been lost since the Second World War.

“Jean Bugatti is a Bugatti legend,” says Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. “Along with his father Ettore, Jean played a critical role in shaping our brand. Jean managed to combine the artistic roots of Bugatti with his father’s innovative automotive technology, and from that developed a design which is still reflected in the brand today, finding expression in our brand values of ‘Art, Forme, Technique’.”

Jean Bugatti died in 1939 while test driving a Bugatti 57 C Tank at the age of 30.
